Colorado Springs Individual Income Tax Lawyer

Have you run into issues with the IRS? Do you have questions about your tax debt? Are you wondering if you can settle your debts for less than what you owe? It is in your best interests to speak to a tax lawyer. You can turn to my firm for guidance.

I am attorney David Kelly of Springs Law Center and I represent individuals facing tax law issues throughout Colorado Springs and the surrounding areas. I am committed to providing low-cost quality services for my clients, personalized attention and knowledgeable legal advice. If you are facing significant challenges due to IRS tax debt, I can help.

As an experienced Colorado Springs individual income tax attorney, I can promptly evaluate your situation and easily determine the best course of action to take. The IRS can garnish your wages, bank accounts and seize your assets, but I can help prevent that from happening. Regardless of how complex or overwhelming your situation may seem, I will strongly advocate for your interests by finding a timely solution for your legal matter.

Failure to File Tax Returns, Report Income or Pay Taxes

Most individuals are facing tax debt issues because of one of the following: failure to file a tax return, failure to report income or failure to pay taxes. Under these circumstances, individuals have two options for finding relief — an offer in compromise or an installment agreement.

Offers in Compromise

An offer in compromise is typically the best option, but an individual must qualify in order to pursue this option. There is a two-pronged qualification process, where the IRS will examine your assets and/or your income. The qualifications are based on your gross income (minus deductions). I can determine the best offer to make to the IRS. Then, I can determine the best offer to make that the IRS will most likely accept.

Installment Agreements

While an offer in compromise is the most ideal option for tax debt relief, another option you have to choose from is an installment agreement. This is an agreement where you pay the taxes you owe over a certain time period. This time period typically lasts no longer than five years. I can help work out an agreement that is low enough, yet one that the IRS will likely accept.
